For example, FedEx converted the DC-10-10s to the MD-10 standard, which features a two man (MD11) glass cockpit.
I recently read that the Las Vegas Sands Corp did something similar with it's 747SP's. Can anyone confirm? And if so, from which aircraft did they borrow a cockpit for the retrofit? I am assuming they used the 747-400..
Did any other airlines undertake similar modernization programs? What about all of the old Soviet airliners that req'd a 5 man crew? Many of these a/c still operate.. Are they still using a 5 man crew, or where those cockpits upgraded too?
