--I heard about it on the internet this weekend. Glad noone was killed in the incident. That passenger was really lucky to just get hit on the head and nothing worse happen... I've seen in the past videos of Dash 8 landing gear collapse. I'm surprised noone has looked into a way to improving on the design of the gear structure especially during the case of a tire blowout...

I have a friend that used to fly the Q400 for QX (Horizon) and if I remember right he said it was very hard to land, i.e., the plane tended to "slam" into the runway.
In this particular case it sounds like the propeller incident occurred in flight.. and the gear collapse was secondary. Or did I read that wrong?
