  • Stunning BEA BAC One-Eleven in 1/400 from JC Wings

This sample of the JC 1/400 BEA BAC One-Eleven has just arrived on my desk and I can't fault it! BEA took delivery of the first of 18 One-Eleven 500s in August 1968, but were about to change livery the following month, so only the first three, G-AVMH,'I and 'J got delivered painted in BEA's classic 'red square' livery and the rest of the order were painted in the later 'Speedjack' livery. This model represents the second aircraft in the fleet, G-AVMI, and is an exact scaled down version of JC Wings excellent 1/200th scale model of this aircraft. It is commendable that JC are producing the same models in 1/200 and 1/400 scales to suit collectors of both. Clearly this makes commercial sense capitalising on the artwork.
For all BEA/British Airways collectors, it is great that we now have the last type from BEA's fleet from currently available moulds.
We now need this model in the BEA 'Speedjack' and British Airways 'Negus' liveries.
