    Transaero & Air China 747-8i

    I just saw on a.net that Boeing has firmed up orders for 6 add'l 747-8i - 4 for Transaero and 2 for Air China.

    I'm happy to see this on a personal level as the 747 is *probably* my favorite airliner..

    Maybe Phoenix and/or GJ will model these up to go along with the Lufthansa 8i.

    I got the impression from the article of RIP 747, i read before that most new 747s are going to be freighters in the near future.

        The article you read still is likely accurate becasue even if everyone decided to stop, contracts still are in effect. It's likely there will still be 747s w/ passenger service for yrs to come.
