I'm in the process of planning a new diorama based on the Gemini hangar - I had in mind a maintenance facility.

In the meantime, I thought I'd upload photos of some of my older work.

Looking good - I love your cargo building. I assume that's home made? Are your lighting pylons 1:500 scale Herpas? I need to get some lighting pylons myself.

Greetings! Almost all of the GSE is 1:500 Herpa, some is from the 1:400 Hawaiian Airlines Dragon set. The lights are actually from a model railroad store - I cut them down to size and painted them. There's lots of stuff available for model railroaders that can be kit-bashed to form something approximating 1:400 (I used the term "approximating" loosely ).

Some of the cargo buildings are actually handgun ammunition trays. They are sturdy injection molded plastic. Turned upside down they make relatively straight tilt-up style concrete buildings. The details are all made from Evergreen Plastic Sheets of various gauges...

I'm never happy with my dioramas, but I keep trying. It is the rainy season where I live now and I will begin a new diorama project soon - albeit a small, shelf-style project. I like the airports you've made - I just don't have the space for them in my house. Maybe one day..

Cheers. Using plastic packaging is a good way to get interesting building shapes - I usually use food packets as you know - I don't tend to have access to ammo trays! Thanks for the tips on the lights I will have a look about for something similar at the local hobby shops.
