American Airlines letting employees vote for their 'new' look!

When I first saw this article, I thought they had a possible return to the 'polished' fuselage; except the B787 of course. Seems like they are just voting on the tail logo!

It amazes me the amount of money spent on re-branding airlines. Think of how many free checked bags that is... could save passengers money, but no, the bean counters are all too concerned about "brand image".

I agree with you. They should focus more on improving their service to their paying passengers, and not jump back into the 'livery' stuff. I fly certain airlines for their reasonable fares, their good/great onboard service, etc.. I don't pick an airline to fly on, based on their paint job.

The livery does serve a physiological purpose & it would bother most people if the livery was ugly or too basic; i hope they go w/ the double AA

I liked the old livery just fine.. not sure why they didn't just refresh it rather than re-brand.

I also vote for the 'AA' tail..

Yep. My vote is for the iconic A&A logo tail. I think when people see the AA on the tail, they know right away it's American Airlines. When you look at this new tail, people are a bit baffled at what airline it's representing?? Go AA tail!

Honestly, I have an American 777-300ER in both New colors and their classic colors, and I feel that they should've kept the old colors, the AA on the tail looks a lot more beautiful than the new tail.

All righty! Majority has the A&A tail on this thread! Let's cross our fingers that Mr. Parker does the right thing and revert back to A&A tail on their birds!

I for one feel it's a little confusing, I like the double A, but unfortunately if they want to keep that logo with the new "American" typeface, they should keep the new tail. If they put the double A with the new typeface, the branding just looks confusing. The new eagle logo I think can be something iconic if we give it time. But that's just me. I for one like the new tail!
