  • Airside at London Gatwick's South Terminal

I grew up at Gatwick but a lot has changed since the 1980s. I recently passed through the airport and here's a report on spotting whilst airside:

Hi there.. I used to live under the approach when i were a lad.. Remember watching all the noisy B707's coming in; BA and British Airtours.. the screeching Tridents, 1-11's and the old 737's Used to get the Orange Braniff 747 regularly and remember calling it 'the flying carrot' There were still Britannias and Vanguards [I think] as well as the exotic Russian aircraft.
You are right, so much more interesting then than now, with its wall to wall Easyjet..)
It is a convenient airport.. but nowadays.. its just endless gloomy corridors..
