  • Airliners With A Center Cockpit Window

    Hi Guys,

I've always thought that the center cockpit window (if that's what they're called) was a bit odd and reminds me of having a center tooth. Here is a list of the ones I can find, please show me if there are any more:

    AN-24

    B377

    CV-880

    CV-990

    DC-8

    DC-9/MD-80/MD-90

    Trident: Not just the window...

    Constellation/ Super Connie

    Il-76: Does the eyebrow count?

    Nord 262

    Tu-104

    Tu-114

    Tu-154

    Viscount

    Yak-42

Cant say that I ever noticed that even though I must have seen Viscounts, tridents and DC9s on hundreds of occasions! Must say they do look a little 'awkward' Love the offsett nosewheel on the trident, gives it character, something that IMHO the current crop of identikit twin jets that dominate the market lack.

Yes, that is pretty interesting about the Trident. I wonder if turning on the ground felt any different. Then if the nodewheel was on the centreline, it would have appeared off-centre from the cockpit.
      Interesting design decision.

What an interesting observation re: the center window. I have never thought of it!
