  • FARNBOROUGH CLASSICS BRISTOL BRABAZON

picked this up off ebay last weekend. a Farnborough classics Bristol brabazon. sadly another airframe that never went into service. but it did get to fly test flights in 1949! check out that H-U-G-E WINGSPAN!!!! it weighed a WHOPPING 130 tons!! yet was airbourne in only 500 yards!! it cost TWELVE MILLION GBP back in 1949, and has 1.5 million rivets. its wings are the length of 5 tennis courts.

    test flight footage on youtube!

interesting full history info on wiki!!!

For those who could be interested, another Brabazon is expected to be available in the coming months, a Saro Princess will be there too, they will be resin models far less expensive.

This information is from the last TOTS, www.the-one-true-scale.co.uk, click newsletter, select the last one June 2015.
The Brabazon will be made by Shed Models and the Princess by Cloudbreak Models, both will be in resin and it is said that the price will be much more attractive than the existing models.
There is a picture of the hull of the Princess.
I think we could expect this in the early months of 2016.
