• 1/400 KLM A330-200 Comparison: AC GJ and PH

Ok here goes starting with the above shot:<div>From left to right is Aeroclassics, Gemini Jets and Phoenix</div><div></div><div></div><div>Individual side on shots:</div><div>Aeroclassics:</div><div></div><div></div><div>Gemini Jets:</div><div></div><div></div><div>Phoenix:</div><div></div><div></div><div>Aeroclassics is darker than the others and the GJ is the lightest, They all acceptable but I think That Phoenix is probably the closest to the correct one. GJ's gear is showing its age in this respect being far behind the detail of the other two.</div><div></div><div>Now to pick up on some of the differences:</div><div>AC Tail vs GJ Tail</div><div></div><div></div><div>GJ Is much too large</div><div></div><div>AC vs PH</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Phoenix's tail section is larger than AC's, AC also has more detail.</div><div></div><div>Phoenix has some major flaws on the wing section, cheatline is not above the wing and also the engine logo is in the wrong place:</div><div></div><div></div><div>Aeroclassics has the infamous upside down logo flaw:</div><div></div><div></div><div>Nose comparisons:</div><div>PH vs GJ</div><div></div><div></div><div>PH vs AC</div><div></div><div></div><div>AC vs GJ</div><div></div><div></div><div>I'd probably give the nose section to Phoenix.</div><div></div><div>Overall though the one I have chosen to keep is the AC as I think it offers the best overall model and has no major flaws, the GJ model is perfectly acceptable but clearly the moulds have improved since this was made.</div><div></div><div>Hope this comparison prooves useful please feel free to add your comments.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div>

This made for a good read. Found it interesting how there differences between all three makers were quite noticeable in some of your points.

Very interesting! When i first saw the Aerocurrent version, i noticed the darker blue pretty much straight away. What is amazing, is the PHX andACsize difference on the tail sections. Someone really has the dimensions out of whack..

I love comparison shots

Overall I think the AC looks the best as long as you can ignore the rather comical printing error. Being the newest it ought to be the best of course. The AC owner is supposed to personally check the artwork of impending releases. I guess he was elsewhere that day. Can't imagine he would be best pleased when he found out.

I've got GJ A330s in the colours of bmi and Air Transat. If Ac were to release those colour schemes and assuming the printing was the right way up I'd definitely consider replacing both.

Hi Guys, I for one like this comparison thread, maybe we could use this alongside Neils review thread? I had'nt realised there was so much variation in mold sizes.

My opinion is the PH model is superior...
<DIV>Still cant believe how different the three makes are!</DIV>

Nice work Andy.
<DIV>The one thing that stands out as far as I'm concerned is, "engine droop". Both AC and Phoenix appear to have it, and it is THE thing that would drive me nuts to look at. I can forgive GJs large tail and would also suspect it is the cheapest of the 3.</DIV>
<DIV>My vote goes to Gemini</DIV>

Yeah i agree Mike. The AC engine droop is probably the worst out of all!! Just display your models on an angle and it wont be a problem.

The GJ is the best model I think with no real flaws apart from showing its age a bit, the other two have their flaws, I cant forgive the Phoenix messing up of the cheatline its not but the AC looks alright on displa, engine droop and upside down logo aside.

Very interesting comparison. I only have the Phoenix model, and I must say that even with the wing going over the cheat line, I do prefer it. The outline of the cockpit windows is a nice touch on the AC.

I think the Phoenix is pretty tidy, they all have their positives and negatives, but try to make a relatively good effort at replicating the real thing.

That Phoenix one looks incredibly tempting.... Thanks for the comparison.
