  • My Collecting Knows No Bounds: The Continuing Conquest of a Room

Remember a while ago that I said my expansion had limits and I wasn't going to go beyond the footprint of my existing displays (http://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/...ollection.html)? Well to hell with that!!

I have a new display area which with four shelves each measuring 90cmx20cm has enough space for between 60 and 65 models of various sizes. It is by the backdoor so I've had to get creative with the shelf sizes and cut a portion of one side of each so the door can still open wide enough.

There's room for growth too with at least two more shelves fittable below and probably four if I don't mind getting near floor level. I'll try not to let it get to that point!

There's still space elsewhere on my shelves so this new area is for something totally new. What is that - you'll find out soon enough.

P.S: The models on the shelves are just a test and don't indicate the future occupants.

It will work yes, but how will you protect those models from dust?
The other area you have appears to be a quiet area (air current wise). This will not be so. So that adds another thing you have to consider.

I am looking forward to seeing how you grow the fleet. I bet you had plenty of fun at the recent collection sale. There were A LOT of planes available. ;-)

I got 7 items from the collection sale though it sounds like I was asleep (literally) when the best Canadian stuff was posted. I wish Waffle wouldn't post models during New Zealand's night.

That area gets barely any traffic actually as I access the room from the trapdoor at the other end 99% of the time. As you can see that door has a padlock on it. The only real issue is spider webs!
