  • AeroClassics 1:400 737 Tires

Hi. I have recently purchased a United 737-800 by AeroClassics. However, when I took it out of the box, the nose gear tires fell out. I have no idea where they went. If anyone has these tires, please contact me. I will pay you for them. Thanks.

Better off e-mailing the manufacturer and asking them directly. I lost a gear for one of my old Gemini Jets (by old I mean I've had it for almost 10 years) and both tires fell off from the nose gear. I ended up contacting Geminijets and they sent me a front landing gear for free. That would probably be your best bet...

Well that must be a 'one off' as I only thought it was Dragon Wings that did that. You won't get any spares from Aeroclassics, but most dealers stock spares. Certainly Aviation Retail Direct here in UK has lots of Aeroclassics spares.

Wasn't really a "one off" It depends how you project yourself to them. I emailed Geminijets and told them I've been collecting for many years and I was very devastated when my models tires fell.. As long as you do a little social engineering and work with the manufacturer there will be an employee who will feel bad and be willing to work with you and offer a solution that won't hurt the company or the customers wallet... Always worth a try...

Heck I was told by other Gemini collectors they would always charge at least $10 USD for their parts... since that happened to me I had a friend who e-mailed GJ with a request for a new 787 wing and they sent the wing for free and even sent the glue they use to glue the new wing to their models...

Ah, yes, wayward tires. When a new model arrives, lay a white cloth--say a t-shirt--on the table where you are going to open the box. Open the box and remove the model over the cloth. That way, if any tires fall off, they are less likely to wind up on the floor, and they'll be on a light-colored surface. I've have aggravating experience with AWOL tires.

I use a flashlight on the rare occasions where I need to search the floor for tires, even in broad daylight. If you don't find it right away, wait a day or for different day-light (and don't vacuum! ) I have yet to fail to find a known fallen tire.

Be careful with Aeroclassics DC-8's, too, I've had their nosegear tires go AWOL, too. Just be patient, and praying to St. Anthony doesn't hurt, either.

Just email the retailer you purchased the model from, all offical Aeroclassics retailers carry spare parts.
