Skywings Innovates - New Models and a New App

Through my investigations I have found a few friends who speak Mandarin and who have been able to supply me with information regarding what is happening in China. Yesterday my friend Dave (that's his English name) informed me of some interesting developments at Skywings. Not only is this innovative, if it operates as was explained to me, but there are interesting models hopefully on their way - including a much awaited 747SP. Here's what I learnt:

With a saturated market full of 1/400 B737s and Airbuses, you would think they would make some moulds of types not available, unless they are going to use someone elses' moulds? As for 747SPs, I already have all I want on the Gemini and Herpa moulds, so can't see the potential?

They are using Panda's and JC Wings moulds. I thought you'd have liked a CAAC 747SP?

While I am weary of new start up brands, the fact they use JC Wings molds are quite encouraging.

As far as the app goes I hope that manufacturers look at this and either offer a mobile solution of tracking your collection from the manufacturers website (IE Inflight200, GJ, Phoenix) or a more sturdier mobile solution where an overall picture of a collection can be used. Currently I use this site on a 5.5" screen and let me tell you that certain aspects work and others do not (primarily model pictures are cut off and the side scrolling method for pictures is atrocious for lack of a better word) but it is what it is...

As far as the newcomers go, it's always nice to see new companies that make their presence known to the big makers... Makes competition worth it... Just hope this doesn't turn into another "Velocity Models" where I went out to purchase most of their JetBlue 400 scales only for them to go under after a third release.

Skywings have already made over 45 models with Panda and been going for 2 years. In fact I own more Panda models (65) than I do JC Wings (57) nowadays

I didn't realize they were that popular. Are there retailers in the states that distribute for Panda models? Do they primarily sell Chinese airliners?

They can only be purchased through taobao, Chinese stores or eBay except for ARD in the UK which has also had a few.

I have still been unable to find any models by Panda, I saw a few A330's that are beautiful like an Lufthansa A330's that look amazing, and I'm trying to get my hands on them. If anyone finds anything legitimate to order Panda models I'd be interested.

They are pretty easily available on eBay. The Lufthansa pair are made for Skywings by Panda.
