As the 50s dawned the exodus of Jews to Israel from Arab nations continued apace and out of the Alaska ops was spawned a new airline - Near East Air Transport. NEAT was heavily engaged with the transportation of Jews from Iraq. It was a humanitarian crisis but in some ways it was a crisis that Israel benefitted from sustaining. In the end it was a strategic success for Israel but few people come out looking very good:
