Here's another one of my 1/100 out of my collection, a LHS 1/100 Cathay Pacific 747-400. Also again waited to see if I could get one in PacMin, but I wanted to get one in 1/100 sometime in my lifetime so I got one of these to see how it was comparing it to the PacMin's. The PacMins's are always consistently nicely finished. PacMin's have plenty of clearcoat and nicely buffed out to a really smooth gloss finish. The LHS seem a little thin on the clearcoat as some areas wasn't finish off as nice as the clearcoat look like it could use a little more attention to the finish work. Although the LHS are very nicely detailed through out as I like the antennas and beacon lights. The detail here is close to the PacMin's, the detail on the wing flaps are decaled in as the PacMins are etched in which are nicer, but the finish work isn't nearly as clean as a PacMin. I think the decal quality on a PacMin is second to none. Attached are some photos of the LHS for some of you connoisseurs to view.

Robert,
LHS may be cheaper in the UK, but by the time it goes over the pond to the USA it comes out about the same as the PacMin's here in the USA. I said earlier the details are nice, it would have been nicer if the details in the flaps & rudder were etched instead of decaled. The fan blades in the engines aren't molded as sharp, the depth in the paint, the clearcoat isn't as good and smooth as a PacMin. And of course the decals on the PacMins as I said it before are second to none. Sure I agree the LHS are a very nice model, but if both offered the same livery then my preference myself I will go with a PacMin.

--That's a very nice model Robert. I really like these LHS models. I have a 1/100 Westway 747-100 BOAC, a beautiful model for sure, and not for sale, but it has nowhere near the detailing seen on these LHS birds."Behold! The Wings of Horus" Miṣr liṭ-Ṭayarān

--Originally posted by MSR777 View PostA very nice model. I have 2 IL 76 models made by LHS, one Iraqi, and an Uzbek one. I'm quite happy with the look and finish of them, and besides, how many 1/100 IL 76 are there out there?
Sweet! Do you have pics posted somewhere of the Uzbek or Iragi IL-76s? I'm ignorant on 1/100s, do they usually not have landing gear?
