No email notifications - Fixed

Hi there,

I do not seem to receive email notifications, especially when someone sends me a personal message. Now I am new and maybe haven't got the setting right, but I cannot find where to activate the notification mails.

Looks like our server can't talk to his; can he change his email as an experiment to see if that fixes it?

Found some errors in our firewall config. Straightened out now; let me know if this fixes your email issue.

I'm having the same issue. I too thought i had the settings incorrect for my profile, but i don't get notifications on threads i have subscribed either.

Fleet, I see you are using gmail, can you check your spam folder for me?

i checked my spam & nothing there, but i was happy to see this email notification in my inbox!
the only email i have gotten so far from this site are the DiMA wishlist. I assumed there was less activity than actually was going on. If this is affecting many users it might explain why activity is slower than in reality.

Looks like there is a known bug w/the software. Hopefully the next release or the one after will address it. Next release is due out in the next 1-2 weeks. For now, make sure you click subscribe at the top of each thread you want to be subscribed to.

Okay, I did get some mails notifying me of forum replies, and I get the wishlist mails. I did not, however, *ever* get a mail notifying me of a PM - and other members I have talked to encounter the same problem it seems. I would suspect that is the reason why hardly ever anyone seems to react to PMs here.

This is a known bug, er really a missing feature... Not sure when they will put this back into the product.. We are pretty pissed that it is missing.

It says you're running vBulletin 5.0.5. Doesn't vBulletin support email notifications for PMs in stock version?

Fixed - And yes VB 5.05 doesn't support email notifications out of the box yet. Disaster of a decision on their part.
