imperfect models

I'm wondering what other people do with imperfect models in tracking their collection?
I have been adding ones that have slight imperfections to the database and noting it in the notes field. But ones that don't have a box, or are broken and need to be reglued and such, I haven't been entering. I was thinking that entering the lower purchase price would skew the value history data. So I could enter them with a note and no value (but then it messes up the global loss/gain numbers on the collection not that this is important like stocks but it's an interesting metric).

Perhaps I'm over thinking this. ;)

Anyway, was just curious what other folks do with tracking their collections.

no i would not say your over thinking things. Your intent seems to be fair & honest. For the models that aren't damaged i don't see why adding w/ a note would be an issue. Those curious to know why it was so low, i hope, would look at your model notes especially if it came from eBay.
