  • How do I change "flight school" - RESOLVED

I have been trying to change to title in my profile away from "flight school" but haven't found a way. How do I do this. Thanks.

Has to do w/the # of posts you make:
    Flight School 0
    Trainee Pilot 15
    Chief Pilot 30
    First Officer 100
    Captain 150
    Senior Captain 250

Ah, I thought it was like DA.C where you could set your status. How come my profile doesn't show the title of "banned" I set for myself?

We don't have custom titles turned on right now

Well i guess that is a bug; we are a few versions back on VB - Security wise we are safe, but we are waiting for their next major upgrade to bring us many new features. I will have to check to see if this is a known issue.

Maybe a dumb question, but... Does a "comment" on a post count towards a higher post count? (What an awkward sentence that is).

Don't Quote me but I believe so, as long as you are active within the community any comments you make go towards your rank.

Don't get caught up in the titles guys... its a nearly pointless system and we almost never turned it on.. Who cares if you have 3,000 posts, you could still be )(#*$ of misery...

That is so true. Means as much as a solar powered ICE maker in the arctic in winter.

Some people think that post count means the world. Even if someone like Einstein posted a thought, if that view doesn't 'gell' with their view, then some will call him an idiot.

Another type of 'Forum God' is those that think that the longer you are a member on a site the more weight your view has. Nope. It only makes you old

Everyone's view has the same weight. One can accept it or reject it personally. But I digress.....

One day I'll be an Airline CEO (if I don't get fired). :p

I couldn't agree more with the 'Forum God' comment. Just because you've been a member for a while doesn't mean you have pull to do anything. I remember when I joined the site last year and I saw Posts: 1 or 2. It's hard when you first join but the time will pass, and pretty soon we will have a lot of "senior captains" around. But like OPs says, the title doesn't mean anything. This site is equal opportunity. As long as you know what your talking about you will fit right in.
