preference to default to advanced search

It would be nice if I could set a preference so that I always go to advanced search when I load the database. I really like having the clear button as well as the registration field so I always go to advanced.

Noted. The way its coded right now, the search portion doesn't take into consideration any preferences. But we will see what we can do.

What about adding the clear button and registration to the simple form?

Or if complexity of hi on simple is too much you could make the part # field be part # or registration and have that field search both columns

Good call. In the spirit of simplicity, the "model ID" field could probably be moved to the advanced search instead.

This will not be moved, many search there by that ID

Seriously? Isn't that the DiMA database ID? Who would knowingly search by that? Are you sure this is a genuine effect? I would expect this to be a "false positive" if you know what I mean.

It is the Dima DB idea, however we have plans to do some things that will use that search field... :)

also the link in the "database" tab, could be made dynamic and link to advanced based on preference, if that's easier than making the whole search dynamically redirecting or something

Current menu system, which comes from the forum software can't be dynamic. Will table this to the future.
