This already exists, just above the reply box is a "Share Photos" link. Same as the "attach photos" option on other sites. Also, you have a personal gallery, if you go to your profile, click the Media tab - you can upload photos and videos there. Once you upload photos to your Media area, you can use the "Share Photos" link to share them in posts.

But to use that you have to own the photo don't you? What if you just want to embed an image used elsewhere on the web into the post. Its a real pain at the moment. Its ok to post a link but you really want to be able to post an image which requires you to be able to write HTML. Attaching photos if it works like it does on DAC always places them at the bottom of the post which isn't ideal.

WTH? It's available & i use all the time.

...Personally there is a bit too much advertising here for me too and I don't care for the eBay tie in being so in your face when you look at an individual model record...

I LOVE this feature, I've already bought FOUR planes that i wasn't aware were listed because i have so many in my want list I ended up getting good prices, one was 60% off the retail price & was new

I can't post photos in the Share photos but when i copy the photo and post it there is no problem.

When you click "share photos", then use the "upload" or "select from photo album" links that appear below the text entry box.

The home page will change over time.. we are using the icons right now to be very simple and let everyone know that there is more than just discussions.. once we get established you'll see more of a "whats new" page; driven from user posts, threads, photos etc... we'll experiment with a few ideas and see which works best.

Your poll appears to not be open for editing. Anyway I'd say you're doing good and almost great. Some of the new features you've recently added are excellent (photos and model score) however the lack of thread counts and average model prices (both available on DAC) is annoying. Also I much prefer the collection list on DAC in terms of its columnar formatting - though yours shows photos which is great. Also something I miss a lot are the graphs on DAC about the collection and its value (even though some have stopped working there recently). Personally there is a bit too much advertising here for me too and I don't care for the eBay tie in being so in your face when you look at an individual model record. At the moment I'm a bit on the fence due to the things above and the small user base. In the end unless DAC goes bye bye then I am not sure your user base will grow enough to make the forum useful. I hope it does as you've shown more willingness to improve things here but until then I'll use DAC and DiMA.

A few points to your comments:

• Thread counts views- oddly, vbulletin removed this from their latest software. We are awaiting them to put it back in, or a custom hack and then we can install that.
• Average Model Prices - This will come in time. We didn't enable it yet for a few reasons. First we need to find out a better way to do it. Other forums numbers for average prices suffer from some major pitfalls. I won't go into them here but the values for some models are very far off reality. We have designed the back-end of this database to be more flexible for currency differences which will lend to much more accurate model values. Second, we need more data points. As more people add collections and prices we will add in the value.
• Columnar Formatting - possibly for the future we can offer this as an optional view.
• Graphs - Same as the average model prices, will come in due time.
• Advertising - all experimental right now. We will tweak and change it as we move forward. Noted about eBay on the model detail view; we are toying with other detail view layouts.
• Use Base - time will tell...

Understood you have a choice in which system to use. We are glad to have you here. We are very willing to change and improve things. We want our user base to be vocal and feel that they can help us improve things. We've been watching users become abandoned on other forums and its disheartening to say the least how wonderful resources can quickly become forgotten.

we'll check on the read from last post, VB may not have coded that back in yet.

Our goal is to be very simple. Notice there are no complicated menus, just simple words. Everything can be done in a few short clicks.
