  • Shopping on EBay For The Last Time

I have had it with shopping on EBay for good.
Bought a Cathay Pacific 747 from a seller in Hong Kong.
Shipment arrived with a broken horizontal stabilizer.
Filed a case under EBay's Money Back Guarantee. They awarded my money back only if I paid for return shipping with tracking. I found out that return shipping from Canada to Hong Kong would cost me $90.00. Told them I refuse to spend $90.00 to get back $50.00.

what was the seller ID, let other know more details to help them w/ purchase decisions. I'm shocked that it costs $90 to ship back w/ tracking. I'm guessing this is because of overseas & Canadian post is more expensive because it's the same in the US. I can ship to China for $16, but it would cost $35 for tracking...extra!!! When receiving pkg from China this doesn't seem to be an issue w/ cost as the USPS has to scan the item for me to sign it. I'm positive they are not paying the same difference in price for tracking to N. America.

The seller was al747300 and I gave him a negative feedback for all to see. All I could really say was model was received damaged.
If you think $90.00 is expensive for shipping with tracking through Canada Post, you should try sending it with UPS. They wanted $140.00
The shipping charge with tracking from Hong Kong was $15.00

I completely understand & sympathize. I found Canadian post to be expensive, but i assume it's because they don't have the same volume of shipments as they do in the states & especially China.

UPS & FedEx more expensive overall, this is fortunate becasue our respective govts built up & purchased a lot of the infrastructure; everyone else had to start from scratch!!

I bought a JC Wings model from Hong Kong last year and it arrived it okay. I generally don't buy or sell overseas because I had a bad experience with Customs. I sold a model to a person in Europe and it took months to arrive.. He was very patient but I told myself I wouldn't put someone through that again. If I can't buy or sell something domestically I just don't bother anymore.

Yea I agree JAL, my one and only experience sending products outside of the U.S. cost me double. The first time I sent the product out it got lost in customs, and I mean lost... to the point I had to re-purchase the item I was selling (just because that particular item wasn't useful to me) so that the customer would be happy and I wouldn't get negative feedback... Since then I never ship internationally. just a headache and a pain...
