Does anyone else incorporate military aircraft into their 1/200 1/400 or 1/500 dioramas? I had strictly avoided it for the longest time.. but I am now tempted to add a C-5. I see these giants sometime appear at LAX.

Where do these airplanes park when they are at a "civilian" airport? Is there a dedicated military facility along Imperial Highway (at LAX for example)? Some airports are quite obviously shared/dual-use, but I'm curious who has responsibility for military aircraft when they are not at a military base.

I've thought about it myself about adding a few C-5's and C-17's to my collection. I'm from the western mass area and I live very close to Westover AFB so for me a C-5 from westover (which GeminiMacs makes) would be something I would love to add to my Northeast airport. As far as location within the airport that's up to you, I'm a very neat freak when it comes to how to organize the airport (wide bodies with wide bodies, narrow with narrow, props together and so on) so for me I'd probably put it in an empty corner and just call that the "military area". Good luck though JAL!

I am too! Domestic (mainline & regional), Cargo, Int'l and Charter are all separate. I got around this a little bit by creating a 'remote hardstand' that can be used by any type of aircraft.

The military usually has the state National Guard or Federal Reserve facilities at the airport service the plane just like any airliner or cargo company. Chicago also had a military dedicated area, but don't know if it still operates @ O hare or goes to a nearby Guard base instead.

This might be of interest & can still be found w/ in 6months time of searching, if you like the American Airlines bare metal livery. If it was availble in 1/200 i would be it even though i don't like the bare metal livery.

We really need a database that tells us which molds are being shared and by whom.

INSANE! I've seen illustrations but I never knew someone decided to turn it into a model. Wish it was still around. OH! Fleet talking about 1:200 I ordered my first 1:200 scale model. actually two! I'll PM you the models.
