Two more suggestions to improve the user experience: On the model detail page,...

    (1) ... add options to show collection details (notes, acquisition date; price is already shown) and to modify the model in your collection (delete, modify notes etc). At the moment, the only way to do this is through the "Collection" tab, which doesn't have search. Clicking on "I have it" adds the model again even if it's already in one's collection. That's a possible scenario, but I think more users expect clicking a checkbox which is already checked to become unchecked (ie. delete the model)

    (2) ... under "prototype photos", optimize the a.net and jp.net searches. The current ones are by registration only. Some airlines recycle regs, so the following models, for example, have more or less unrelated photos: http://www.diecastmodelaircraft.com/db/model/25704 - shows current A380 instead of historic A330 http://www.diecastmodelaircraft.com/db/model/15171 - shows current 747-8 instead of historic 747-100 http://www.diecastmodelaircraft.com/db/model/18207 - shows current E145 instead of historic 747SP (which is kind of the funniest discrepancy I could find).

    Thanks!

Number 1 would definitely be handy though I think searching collection would be more useful for me but if searching collection isn't possible then this would be very useful. #1 needs to consider that there may be more than one of that model in the collection

On the edit thing I have asked for ability to edit wants via already checked want it button but the answer has always been people want to add more "want it" entries. I click the already checked "got it" button when I already got it it to add a second. So maybe a small edit link next to those icons would the way to do edits

Good point; it proves that this isn't as easy as I thought it would be. If a user has more than one copy, which copy's details should appear here? Which one should be deleted ...?

Could just display a table of them. Or show one arbitrary one and display (and # others).

If search collection existed one could just link to the search collection Page with all the details filled in too get the table results for that model
