Hello everyone, I'm Marlena. I imported my collection onto this site from Wings 900 a couple of years or so back I think, but never really did much else about it until just recently... I've had a bit of a lapse with interest in this hobby over those last 2 years, due to a number of reasons, some being financial reasons. Earlier this year I got back into it a wee bit, and bought some more models... then just a few weeks back got in here and did some updating of my collection database. I remember being a bit of an aircraft nut back when I was a kid, probably due to the era that was then... the Boeing 747 and the Concorde were taking to the skies and they were just so incredible and amazing to a kid at that time. Unfortunately for my fascination with aircraft, I was soon introduced to fast cars and big trucks, followed by a term of apprenticeship as a diesel mechanic, a youth of hooning around in 'hotted up' cars, and a career involved in the trucking industry, both in the workshop and out on the road truckin... which led me totally away from aircraft altogether. It was only in the last 10 years that the interest slowly resurfaced... and I began collecting model aircraft. And now I'm hooked, lol. Collecting die-cast models has always been one of my hobbies, but earlier on it was always cars and/or trucks. I still have well over 50 1:18 scale model cars, a selection of die-cast model trucks in various scales, a couple of 1:14 scale R/C trucks and a large collection of HO/OO scale model trains... amongst the large collection of transport/automobilia I've accumulated over the years.
I guess I should mention too that I am transgender, I spent 49 years of my life living as a male before the realization slapped me in the face (bit like a wet fish) that I should have been a female. I'm a much happier person these days after I came out and let the people in my life know that I now identify as a female, oh and I have a great collection of shoes now too
Hope I haven't bored you all with my life story, Marlena.
