Hey Everyone...bought my first four planes last week and just finishing up my first airport diorama. Collector of diecast F1 stuff, but now moving into the plane thing...1/400 scale interest.

So its been a couple of weeks...up to 5 planes now and two more on the way. Built my first airport...not bad for my first try

I don't have a lot of room so I had to build it to fit on top of an IKEA Kallax shelving unit.

So its been 2 months and I'm up to 7 planes...at this rate I'll be at 42 by the end of the year...

That looks really cool! I love how big it is. Scale is such an important part of realism.. A suitable international terminal should make a 747 look small.

A good diorama is mesmerizing to watch. That is the holy grail for me, to one day build something that captures the authenticity of some of these model railroads I used to see growing up.

I just can't fathom doing $160 USD for a little Gemini Terminal.. and I just don't have time to build. I am hoping 3D printing can offer a solution in the future.

Congratulations once again, and welcome to the hobby! It is addicting.. I was nearly up to 200 airplanes before I did a big sell off, and now I'm back down to 134 (in 3 years) although my collection has better cohesion and focus.

Welcome Tegstar, I been collecting for a couple of years.. I'm up to 103 aeroplanes, all in 1/400. Yes it does become addictive, so it is helpful to have some kind of collecting criteria. Even so, it is your collection so there will always be 'exceptions' to that..)
Your terminal looks good, and a great place to put it.

I am on my 34th day since I discovered these diecast 1/400 models. I'm into flying RC airplanes and stumbled upon these while browsing on eBay. I am currently at 23 models and had promised at 20 I would stop for a bit. Soon as I say I stop I see a deal and just can't let it go. Lol I'm loving these little things. For now I can't even display them so when I do move into my next place it will have a hobby only room. Or hopefully whole basement being 4 of my RC planes have over a 6ft wingspan. Their very addicting too. Currently 4 of my 24 are on there way still and I'm onto 2 others I want and am trying to refrain from for now.
