Doing really great. Love the enthusiasm. I only have one idea.
It would be nice if every aircraft in the data base had a "current market value" tab so you can:-
1. list your trades at "market"rates
2. buyers know what the true worth of the model is that they are after.
3. You can accurately value your collection for insurance purposes.

that would be my wish list.

Average Model Prices - This will come in time. We didn't enable it yet for a few reasons. First we need to find out a better way to do it. Other forums numbers for average prices suffer from some major pitfalls. I won't go into them here but the values for some models are very far off reality. We have designed the back-end of this database to be more flexible for currency differences which will lend to much more accurate model values. Second, we need more data points. As more people add collections and prices we will add in the value.

Just wondering how things are looking in a few of my threads that were reasonably popular, namely my car truck and earthmover thread where it seems hundreds of posts and pictures etc are lost, Do i take it that DiMA has no interest in them, or its a case of finding them and resurrecting these old posts. There was interest shown there as were my MAC CHAT threads but I feel somewhat unwanted here and I hope thats not the case, thousands of hours I spent finding material suitable for the MAC forum and to see it lost has left me rather dissapointed. I was a major contributor of MAC and hope my credibility still stands as a foundation of what MAC stood for and became DiMA

The threads are not lost. There is still a pagination bug that comes up on larger threads (this thread included). We are awaiting the fix from Vbulletin. To prove my point, go to this thread that has 900+ replies:

you can verify that all have been saved by doing one of two things; first you can enter a page number in the box to the right of "Page"; or you can click the "latest activity" tab.

You'll see there are 63 pages and all posts are intact.

Not a problem Steve.. I know most of the MAC community thinks that we've turned this place into a giant mess. To be honest, i'm upset that we had the bugs we did because they aren't just annoyances but they are major issues that hinder performance. Doing our best to get them fixed as soon as we can. I hope we can restore some faith in the original MAC users.

I like the way things are going so far, i like your mission statement. these are some of the things i really like :

• Toggle Advanced Editor--
  • like that it's fast to change
  • Easier to enlarge the posting window by selecting the corner and dragging w/ the mouse
  • shows the status of inventory for waffle store & whether it's low or last model left
• love the new feature where you can see the people interested in your model
• Love that you can click the number of the model to see what people have the plane to sell
• LOVE the ebay notice of it's availability if it's on ebay (works 95% of the time, but good enough for me)
• LOVE the tie in of pictures from Airliners.net & Jet photos
• To have the Adv Editor on by default from your profile

Things i would like:

• Toggle Advanced Editor--
  • The smileys don't have details i could easily tell what they are (maybe my eyes are too old), but they appear too small e.g. had trouble to ID the one that winks & others had to wait for the mouse pointer to name them after i kept it in place...i might be in the minority of smiley users?
  • Wish the size of the window would not change to default size after selecting the toggle advanced editor
• when placing the cursor on a pic in the DB it give the title of the pic which is annoying especially since the title is long enough to block out the image of the plane--see pic in next post.
• Maybe? To select a page in the DB instead of using the arrows or moving 4 pages @ a time when browsing thru all the DB--maybe it's just me, to have the time to do this?
• A feedback or rating system of some kind w/ rules on how to vote, for people who do custom planes so they can a rep. this would benefit members who have no clue on where to go if they wanted to customize a model in their scale & might stand you out from your competitors?

Browsing from mobile devices breaks after the new features were introduced.. For example, I can't load the individual model page, Want page is extremely slow to load, often the icons are not displayed properly..

I hope to have more enjoyable browsing experience even when using mobile devices.. FYI I'm on android phone and tablet..

I went thru the whole 1/200 DB to add to my want list & update my collection, so i took notes as i went along.

What device are you using? currently the forums are the only part that is optimized for mobile usage. We essentially have to re-write most of the system to be more mobile compatible so it isn't an easy fix. Right now there is a lot loaded on the pages that isn't needed for mobile browsers. However it is on the the to-do list.

The grey bars under your name here in the forums is your reputation. They turn colors s your rep grows. We will eventually integrate that into the trade system.
