But there was something I found actually quite sad.... as I was driving home I drove past the main hangar..... saw a Air New Zealand 747 tail koru painted over and looked as they they were been stripped.. I get the feeling these birds may be leaving our shores very very soon.... any info on this would be greatly appreciated... would love to go see its final flight if this is the case. --Sadly all good things must come to an end, in this case an older 747 is the victim of old age and destined to find a home in the desert along with many others. Hopefully you will get some parting shots when she leaves!Collector of aircraft, truck, car and earthmover models

--Agreed, from what the AA mechanic said, it was going to happen very soon anyways..... as it was on its last limbs so to speak.... so good thing it happened there rather then in the the middle of no where.Originally posted by ALITALIA_747Hey Jase, that is rotten luck regarding the battery mate. Atleast it happened in a great location.

--I got some good shots, I also saw an aborted landing from a ANZ 767, was coming to land gears down then all of a sudden sped right up again and ascended... a beech was still on the runway prepping for take off... close call.Originally posted by Aviation DelightI've had similar situations before but not that expensive. Too bad Jason hope you at least go good pictures out of the situation.

--Hi Steve,
Well i'm just building away at a 1/33 scale SAS DC9 made of card and coming along nicely, now that's just got me wondering...
I know you make dioramas Steve for your Earthmovers etc, but what does everyone else do when they are not here on the forum?

--Not recently, but a few months ago I was designing my future new house, so architectural drawing did take up a lot of my time, I have all the super micro pens etc needed, and I produce some pretty good work I think, a few builders etc have seen my drawings and were quite amazed I had no training in drawing whatsoever. Detailing my trucks n stuff is prob my most active hobby at moment, adding numberplates, warning signs, and weathering them up so they become even more real.
Aviation photography is another interest of mine!
