  • Database update notice

Thanks to a few rotten people in this hobby, database updates will no longer be provided for 1:400 and 1:200 scale. 24 years of compiling data and taking photos only for others to take it to profit off of won't be tolerated. Thank you for your support over the years.

What does this mean for us members and collectors? No more new models added to database?

I am so sorry to hear this. Your site has been an amazing resource for me and was such and improvement over everything else I had used. I am going to be very sorry to see it go. What happens to our collections and want lists? If those will be going away is there any way to export this data so we can put it in to excel or something?

I guess this explains why none of my orders have been brought over\transferred over from your store when I made a purchase in to my collection like they used too for a while now.

This is very sad news indeed. I guess this means we will be unable to add new models to our collections. Is here any chance that you'll re-consider? I'm really going to miss the data base

I've done the entries since day 1. 24 years of doing entries and then photos only for a few people to run a script so they can take the data and use it for themselves. The lack of people saying thanks for 24 years of putting in the work no one else would instead saying meme me further proves why it's time to move on. It's amazing when people want to boycott my store when people steal what I've given the hobby for free.

I am too sad for this news, i am just new in the collector's world, i am just starting to collect since 2023, and I had a bountiful collections of over 60 of 1/400 scale. half of it came from your store Mike.. i am too sad, as this database is my reference if how good or bad the model that i want to buy.. please reconsider.

Devastating news. How can we let a few a******s stop the rest of us kind law abiding collectors using and enjoying the database. Penalizing the majority for the poor actions of the minority isn't fair. Please reconsider your decision. This will impact considerably how I manage the hobby - it is much needed feature given the masses of models out there, something I've been proud and grateful to use for years. At least reinstate the database as is even without adding new releases however I would gladly pay a subscription to use it in it's full form - has that been considered. I hope we can get it back soon. Thank you.

Well considering this hobby's favorite social media personality admitted to stealing the data. Everyone can thank Richard Stretton for the termination of the database.

Yeah so people can trust Waffle's version of events or believe me. He's been threatening to close DIMA for months now because he hates his customers so much.

Yup attached is the proof. I don't have to justify myself nor do I have to be the social media guru of toy airplanes. It's amazing how I still sell more airplanes than anyone and yet people are treated so poorly. Good riddance to you.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do without this website. I’ve been tracking my collection on here for 15 years or so. There has to be something we can do? I’d be happy to pay a small monthly subscription to keep it going! Is there even any other website like this? I’ve been a long time customer of waffle and really appreciate all he’s done for the community.

Please restore the full database and this wonderful site. It's the best resource in the hobby and I'm very grateful for this.

This is unfortunate. I understand the frustration, waffle. We can't thank you enough for what you did over many years. If you're no longer willing to maintain the database, are you open to granting write access to a group of volunteers? I'd certainly be up for it, but limited to my favorite 1:500 scale.
