• Morning all, from a very wet Melbourne. Just got back from a very gloomy Tullamarine, and suprise i spotted my first ever Royal Brunei Boeing!! The yellow livery really brought some warmth to the surrounding area. Anyway, off to the soccer/football today.

• Hey Steve, this time last week we peaked at around 39 degrees! Today, nothing but rain! We all know, Melbournes weather has more issues than a newspaper.
<DIV>I will be watching a bit of the Clipsal 500. It is one of the best races on the calendar, especially with the long straights and reall tight hair pin turns. </DIV>

Driven on the track in my XD falcon many years ago, and did the obligatory smoke the tyres from pole position of course, was a real buzz takin off from start line!!!! Hoon I am, LOL!!!!
Tell ya what John, that last turn before pit straight/grid, is real tight, I came flyin up to it and my car went around it sideways, nearly scared out of me, and those guys prob do it at twice speed I was going. Will see if i can go to race next year.
Been to a few grand prix, and also touring races, pity they dont use the full grand prix track, but was told the laps would take longer, also set up of barriers etc, mind you on original circuit the speeds would be incredible.

<DIV>That would have been one hell of an experience Steve. The burnout was a standard tyre warm up procedure. </DIV>
<DIV>The last turn is very hard because it bends for longer and your cars thengets body roll which makes it leave the track. The V8's would have sway bars etc helping them out for those corners.</DIV>

• Good morning Robert, Just had a slight sprinkle of rain here in ADL, roads are all but dry, hoping for a dry race track for the touring cars tomorrow, and after race concerts also. Huge crowds attended today, and dare say Sundays race will be huge also, so hope its a nice day of racing here.
