Working for a major retailer here in Canada and I am sure it is the same world wide. Why do customers take it out on the sales associate when you inform them "sorry we are sold out that item. It was Christmas season and now it takes a few weeks for orders to come in. They look at you as if you have 2 heads or that you can magically produce the item out of your back pocket. Really I have a skid of them in receiving and just don't want to walk back there for you. Ok my rant and rave is over.

Steve you are slipping with your posts. I just noticed that Andy has more posts than you. You are usually leading the pack.

Customers can be a strange and demanding bunch sometimes, it does vary a lot on the customer to say the least! Some are an absolute pleasure some are a nightmare!

Damn computer of mine, after running slow, and trying to fix issues, over the phone, a major disc clean up was done yesterday, today with SAl's help, cookies cleared and so on, So still no good. Can access forums, but airliners net shots cant be enlarged, Emails wont open, ebay-cant access (my ebay)adel airport website, wont open, nor will syd apt meassage board forum!!tried to download spybot and malwarebytes, wont open either, ran AVG scan earlier-no threats found, back to be repaired when I can afford it i guess!!!will get computer shop to sort out flash player-lost when i changed back from Chrome to firefox!!! and will get new speakers too, mine are stuffed even tho i dont use em much !!!
I guess a cpple days away again, and it will all be sorted hopefully soon! So at the moment, very VERY basic operations from this end! New computer will be bought after settlement of the block, so about 5-7 months away! as Its running a 2nd hand HDD, it may be whats causing the issue, I have a 1 TB drive-NEW installed, but nothing is on it at all!!! which would mean, lose the bloody lot! See what happens I guess in next two weeks!

As I sit here on a rather warm sunny Adelaide night, sipping away on a coldie, A future idea came into my head!!! Something I have wanted to do and is well within the realms of possibility! A great mate of mine, long term friend, is a trucker, drives semis, Bdoubles and road-trains. We spoke ages ago of doing a B double trip to Port Augusta and back, a few hours drive from Adelaide, now its something you don't do everyday, I would like to do a photo story on what happens on a short haul run in a Kenworth Cabover, with two trailers behind you! Probably getting up around the 100 ton mark all up. I would shoot the various stages of the journey, and describe the ride in the best way possible that I can.....Ive had a couple short local rides in single semi trailers, but a Big Long B-Double would be fantastic experience I think!!!
See what I can arrange in coming weeks as now is the time to do it with daylight saving and long days!

I would love some Aussie heavy freight diesels in my collection, along with some freight cars as well, but sadly room, money and Id go nutz if I started!!!! Better for me to admire what others have in their collections.

except now I've gotta wait another 1-2 weeks for a decoder, ah well I can still put up pics,

Hi Martin, Pt. Augusta is at the most northern point of Spencer Gulf, It is by road, approx 305km from Adelaide (190 miles) and in a car, approx 2.45-3.00 hours, obviously in a semi/B double, they are restricted to 100kph-car is 110kph, so estimate a truck would take 3.5 hours each way!
Pt Augusta is the last major town before reaching Alice Springs in the Red Center, then Darwin up the top of Australia, some 1903miles from Adelaide. Flight time is 30-40 mins across the Gulf.
I might add that I believe Pt Augusta is like a changeover depot for the big rigs, as in ROAD TRAINS, transit Augusta-A/Springs-Darwin and vice versa.I have yet to confirm that, but you dont usually see road trains Adelaide side of Augusta. So a ret Journey would be 7hrs, add changeover time at Augusta so a whole trip could be 8-9 hours and 610kms. I imagine trailers from Adelaide are full going up, some just for Augusta, some for further north? On the return, perhaps produce from Darwin, and general freight is the return leg? Guess I will find out soon enough!!!

Just had a guy here to qoute on tree, shed removal and block clearing, back to bare soil, cost estimated at $7000 aud. 3 large trees and large Date Palm have to go, at least a 3 day job, a shed, clothes line and kennel-built in, also outdoor covered enclosure has to go to, sweet memories of fun times in the yard with BBQ and small bonfire going!!!
Fun parties we had back then, ahh those were the days!!!
Land has to be cleared at my cost, not the buyers unfort, just lucky he paid a good price for it, but once everyone gets paid for services and legals etc, hopefully I still retain a high percentage of the balance!!!

Morning Folks, just a totally "off topic" question here......

At the moment i use Virgin Media cable connection for my internet, which i'm finding is running really slow and sometimes i can't even log on and give it up as a bad job, so what type of connection are you all using out there?

<DIV>I'm on an Orange wi-fi system delivered via a BT line. In my area BT can only supply a 6mg speed at best and it generally runs at that speed most of the time although it can drop to below 2mg if there is a high local demand for internet access especially as we are on an overhead cable network.</DIV>
<DIV>More often than not slow running is down to my old computer playing up (I think it has a bug in it somewhere which I can't eradicate). Comp 2 &amp; iphone generally runs trouble free.</DIV>
<DIV>Also doing a disk clean up and defrag helps as does the occassional disc error check (do this in properties from the drop down menu on your C drive)</DIV>
